Rosemary A. Prue of Troy passed away peacefully in the Eddy Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Troy on Sunday May 31, 2026. Daughter of the late Matthew and Helen Smoles O'Shensky. Beloved wife of the late John Prue.
Educated in Sacred Heart School and Catholic Central High School in Troy, Rosemary entered into the workforce following the completion of her Associate Degree and worked for Matthew Bender. Rosemary had a love for HGTV and courtroom shows and spent her free time watching her favorite programs. Above all she loved time with family and friends. Rosemary traveled to Maine with her daughter Robin for lifetime memories. Additionally, Rosemary enjoyed shopping and flowers of all kinds.
Rosemary is survived by her children Robin (Bob) Cuddey and Shawn Prue (Kari Vink-lainas); her granddaughter Casie (Brandon) Levine; her long time "sister friend" Sandy Dunham and nieces Jude (Kenny) Partisano and Megan (Kenny) Ruggiero. Additionally, Rosemary is survived by her high school and close friends Judi Mathias and Eileen Harper.
In addition to Rosemary's parents and husband, she was predeceased by her mother-in-law Anna Mae Prue and sister-in-law Connie (Prue) Kenny.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Rosemary Tuesday June 9th at 10am in St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church 175 Williams Road, Troy. Interment will immediately follow the Mass in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Troy. Family and friends are invited to visit with Rosemary's family on Monday June 8th from 4-7pm in the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home 510 Pawling Avenue, Troy.
Rosemary's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Eddy Heritage Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center and to Hospice for their kind and compassionate care for Rosemary during her end of life care.
