Gegan, Richard J. - Troy

Richard J. Gegan longtime resident of Troy passed away in the peace of his own home on January 1st. Son of the late William and Inez Newman Gegan. Loving husband of the late Diana Gegan.

A devoted husband and father Richard will be fondly remembered as a loving and kind man. Answering his call to serve his country Richard proudly served in the United States Army in the 1950's. An avid reader and bowler, Richard also enjoyed watching the NY Yankees. A man of great faith Richard watched Mass weekly in his home in his elder years in an effort to continue to celebrate his faith.

Richard is survived by his children David Gegan of Troy and Denise (Vincent) Flynn of Cheshire Ct. In addition to his children Richard is survived by his beloved grandson Ryan Flynn.

In addition to his wife and parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother Thomas Gegan.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Richard on Thursday January 9th at 11am in St. Joseph's Church, Troy. Visitation will be held privately prior to the mass at the family's convenience. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy where Richard will join his wife Diana in the Gegan family plot.
