House- Brown, Melissa L. - Troy

Melissa L. House- Brown of Troy passed away suddenly in Albany on May 9th, 2024. Daughter of Barbara Van Arnum and the late Joseph House.

Melissa was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. Following her education, she was employed by Verizon and enjoyed a 30 year long career. Melissa was an avid lover of the beach and ocean, enjoying many trips to the sea over her lifetime. Melissa had a great love for children and animals. A talented swimmer and skier, Melissa will be remembered as a ski instructor at Jiminy Peak. A contagious laugh and loving manner, Melissa will be remembered by her children and family for her unconditional love and caring attributes. A generous soul, she was often taking care of those whom she didn't know and offering shelter to folks in need. In a final act of kindness Melissa selflessly donated her kidneys to two individuals in critical need of transplants. Melissa was a proud member of the CWA local 1118 union.

In addition to her mother Melissa is survived by her daughter Nadia Brown and Son Jaylen Brown, and Stepson Jessie Brown, and her sister Sara House. Also survived by her cousins Moira Philistin, Matt (Jen) McNulty, and Uncle Tom Gulum, and a host of friends and extended family.

In addition to her father Melissa is predeceased by her Aunt/best Friend Diane Gulum.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Melissa's family on Thursday May 16th from 4-6pm in the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home LLC 1855 12th Avenue, Watervliet. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation in the funeral home at 6pm.
