Mary Elizabeth Redcross (Branigan), age 83, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, surrounded by her children and prayer. She joins in heaven her husband John Charles Redcross and her mother and father Helen and James Branigan, as well as many other beloved family and friends. Mary Beth loved music, having learned to play the piano as a child, and continuing her love of music as a piano teacher and as the organist at St. Williams Church in Troy, N.Y. Mary Beth was a devout Catholic, and further served as the Director of Religious Education for St. Williams Church for years. Mary Beth loved spending her time with family, serving others in her community, reading, cooking meals for loved ones, and travelling across the country to California. Mary Beth also had a very high IQ, and don't you forget it.
Mary Beth is survived by her children: Francis (Eileene) Armenia, James (Gabrielle) Armenia, Anthony (Kim) Armenia, Michael (Brenda) Redcross, John (Connie) Armenia, Michael (Margaret) Armenia, Kathleen (Richard) Armenia, and Anne (Kenneth) Beehler, as well as her grandchildren: Margaret (Ari) Armenia, Theresa Armenia, Olivia Armenia, Seamus Armenia, Rei Armenia, Sarah Armenia, Jacob Armenia, Sarah (Jose) Barba, Joey Armenia, CJ Armenia, Zachary Armenia, Matthew Redcross, Christopher Redcross, Rachel Fantozzi, Andrew Fantozzi, and Madeline Beehler. Mary Beth is survived by her siblings: Helen Branigan (predeceased), Br. James Branigan, John (Kathy) Branigan, Marcia Branigan, Joseph (Marybeth) Branigan, and Paul (Debbie) Branigan. Mary Beth is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Mary Beth on Wednesday June 18th at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, Troy. Interment will immediately follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie where Mary Beth will be interred next to her husband John Redcross. Family and friends are invited and may visit with Mary Beth's family on Tuesday June 17th 4-7pm in the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Avenue, Troy.
