Mary E. Genevive passed away peacefully on November 4th. 2025. Daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Neason Long. Beloved wife of Anthony J, "Juker" Genevive (d.2019) whom she shared 63 years of marriage with.
Mary worked many jobs and is best known for her time at The Grand Union Market on Pawling Avenue. Mary's smile lit up the room, and she just wanted people to be happy and have fun. She loved golf, bowling, Bingo, roller skating and camping at Schroon Lake, and of course...watching Jeopardy! Mary loved going out to dinner and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Mary is survived by her two sons Anthony D. Genevive, Gary M. Genevive and his wife Alyson; two grandchildren Karlie and Carson Genevive Additionally Mary is survived by her sister Anne and her husband Brian Trent; sister- in-law Dolores Long and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Anthony "Juker" and parents Elizabeth and Joseph, Mary was predeceased by her sister Theresa and her husband Everett Manning; brothers Paul, Pete, Walter "Barney", Edward "Duckie", and James "Jimmy" Long.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Evergreen Commons and Mary's loving and caring roommate Margie Colamarino.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary on Wednesday November 12th at 10:30a.m. in Sacred Heart Church 310 Spring Avenue, Troy. In following in Mary's wishes there will be no public visitation prior to the mass. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Avenue, Troy.
