Martin R. Coons

Martin Robert Coons, 78, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his home. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Earl Warren Coons and Mary Frances Gross Coons.

Martin is survived by his daughter Jody (Karl) Weidel, his granddaughters Nicole Weidel and Ashley Weidel, his sibling Earl (Kathy) Coons and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother and father, he was predeceased by his son Mark Coons and his siblings Thomas Coons, Joyce Bendon, Nancy Taylor, John Coons, and Sandra Nolan.

Besides spending time with family and friends, Martin had a passion for music, guitar playing, the NY Yankees, cars and golf.

His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were honored to have had the privilege of knowing him.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of Martin's family. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Avenue, Troy.
