Joseph A. Richards

Joseph "Joe" Richards, a proud lifetime resident of Troy (Albia), passed peacefully with his family by his side Monday. Joe was a graduate of CCHS, was a Navy veteran and a graduate of Russell Sage College and had a very successful career at Al Tech Specialty Steel. He enjoyed spending time in the Adirondacks and Naples, Florida. He was also a WWII history buff.

Joe was predeceased by his wife, Jerrie, and they are now reunited in heaven. He was also predeceased by his loving grandson, Patrick, his sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Bassett, Mrs. Blanche Riel, Mrs. Shirley Lemke, and his parents Alfred and Helen Richards.

Left to cherish his memory are, his son David (Linda) Richards, and grandchildren Sean (Stephanie) Richards, Jennifer (Sean) Solarte and several nieces and nephews, especially his nephew, Bill Bassett.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Joe on Monday, May 5th, 2025, at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, 310 Spring Avenue Troy. Family and close friends are invited and may visit with Joe's family prior to the Mass, 10 - 11am. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.

Memorial contributions in Joe's memory would be appreciated to a charity of one's choice.
