Jason "Jay" Glogowski passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 38.
Jay was a graduate of Tamarac High School, Class of 2005. He received an Associate's degree from Hudson Valley Community College and pursued an education at the New School of Radio and Television. He was an avid sports enthusiast from an early age and became an integral part of the Tamarac girls' sports programs, especially basketball and soccer. During matches, he would always be seen on the sidelines keeping stats and running the scoreboard. Jay also took an interest in skiing at the Double H Ranch, earning a silver medal. Anyone who knew Jay knew he was a die-hard Boston Red Sox and New York Jets fan and was seldom seen without his Boston Red Sox hat.
He was a kind and generous spirit, contributing to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and was a regular blood donor through the Red Cross. Jay even fulfilled a long-time goal of skydiving through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In keeping with his selfless nature, Jay was also an organ and tissue donor, offering the gift of life to others-a final act that beautifully reflected his compassion and generosity.
Jay found his love of life through music. He enjoyed playing guitar and was a devoted fan of the Dave Matthews Band, attending 49 shows, including at the Gorge, where he made countless friends and created lasting memories.
One of his greatest joys in life was becoming an uncle to his niece, Brynn, and his nephew Knox. He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Amy, who was a constant source of comfort, companionship, and unconditional love. Their connection was a true reflection of Jay's gentle spirit and the deep care he gave so freely to those around him.
He is predeceased by his mother, Marian (Mimi) Glogowski; paternal grandparents Edward and Clara Glogowski; and maternal grandparents William and Marie Pendergast. He is survived by his father, Philip Glogowski (Karen); his loving sister Shannon (Wyatt Lewis) Glogowski; his niece Brynn Lewis and nephew Knox Lewis; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved deeply.
Jay will be remembered for his kind soul. Even though he faced many challenges in life, he met each one with a smile.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday in Sacred Heart Church, 310 Spring Ave., Troy. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Family and friends are invited and may visit with Jay's family from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, March 20, in the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave., Troy.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Baller Dream Foundation in loving memory of Jay Glogowski.
