James H. Naylor, Jr., our father, brother and friend, died peacefully on May 1 after a brief illness, he was 80 years old. Jim was the loving son of the late Ursula Foley Naylor and the late James H. Naylor, Sr. He will be dearly missed by his sons, Jason Naylor (Michelle) of Casper, WY, and Ryan Naylor of Troy, NY, his sisters Carol Ann Naylor Carley (Ed) of Troy, Janice Naylor of Clifton Park, NY, and his brother, Michael Naylor (Ann) of Albany, NY. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Christian and Madi Naylor, four nieces and three nephews.
Jim lived in Troy his entire life, attended Sacred Heart School and was a Troy High School graduate. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1995. Jim loved baseball and as a kid played on teams for the South Troy Babe Ruth and Little League. Jim's family was one of the first families that moved into "The Heights" and he had great stories and memories of his childhood years there. He was a member of the Troy AOH, enjoyed playing golf at Frear Park, bowling, and spending time with his sons and friends, many of whom were friends from his childhood. In later years Jim enjoyed spending time at the Wynantskill American Legion where he was in the dart league. He called each of us on every holiday and birthday, and we will miss those calls. We will miss you, Dad. Thank you for all the memories you gave us.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for James on Tuesday May 6th at 11 am in Sacred Heart Church 310 Spring Avenue, Troy. Family and friends are invited and may visit with Jim's family prior to the Mass from 10am until 11am. Inurnment will immediately follow the Mass in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mann Avenue, Troy.
