Florence C. Simmons

Florence M. (Costello) Simmons of Scotia, NY passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on July 15, 2026 at home with her loving and devoted nephew and caregiver, Stephen Roddy, by her side.

Born in Troy, NY on April 29, 1927, Florence was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Anna Kendall Costello. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1945.

Florence worked for many years as a bookkeeper for her husband's music stores in Troy and Menands, NY.

Florence had no children of her own however she was a loving Aunt and second mom to her many nieces and nephews and Godmother to several and spent time babysitting, vacationing, and teaching them to play her organ, taking them to church as well as attending all their events. She was so loved and will be forever missed.

Florence is survived by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Roy Simmons, her siblings Dan Costello, Eileen Rogers, Ann Pate and Sandra Roddy. Florence was also predeceased by her nieces Kathy and Sue Ann and her nephews Philip, David, and Joseph Pius.

Services will be private. A Catholic mass in remembrance of Florence's life will be celebrated at a later date.
