Whited Dolores S. - Troy
Dolores S. Whited long time resident of Troy passed away peacefully in Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 86. Daughter of the late Dominick and Catherine Cavalotti Pinho. Beloved wife of the late George Whited.
Educated in the Troy schools, Dolores was a proud member of the Troy communities her entire life. Working for a short time at Montgomery Ward's, Dolores went on to make a career in the Samaritan Hospital in Troy, sharing a 42-year long career with her close colleagues which later would become lifelong friends. An avid reader and gardener Dolores could occasionally be found visiting the local casinos for a day of relaxation and entertainment. Above all Dolores was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Dolores is survived by her children Antonia (Alan) Svendsen, Forrest "Jack" Redcross, Dean (Karen) Redcross, Donna Redcross (Omar), Dominick (Meredeth) Redcross, and Elizabeth Redcross. Additionally, she is survived by her 15 grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Elizabeth (David) Bowden and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to Dolores's parents and husband she is predeceased by two siblings.
Family and friends are invited to visit Dolores's family in the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Avenue (Corner of Parkview Crt and Pawling Avenue) on Thursday December 19th from 4pm until 7pm. A time of memory and story sharing will immediately follow the visitation in the funeral home at 7pm.
