C. Andre Sullivan

Troy – C. Andre “Andy” Sullivan passed away peacefully on May 30, 2022.  Andre was born in Troy, the only child of the late James F. and Florence Wade Sullivan.  Andre was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names, in Albany, earned an associate of arts degree from the former Elizabeth Seton College, Yonkers, New York, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Russell Sage College, evening division and a Master’s degree in Community Psychology from the Sage Colleges.

Andre taught in local parochial grammar schools while continuing her education and was deputy city clerk for the City of Troy. Prior to her retirement, Andre was a caseworker with NYS Office of Children & Family Services, Child Protective Services.  Andre was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Troy, and the recipient of the First in League Service Award, member and Past President of the Van Rensselaer Garden Club, board member of Troy Chromatic Concerts and the Commission on Economic Opportunity. Andre was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Troy, and enjoyed needle point, tennis, ice skating and gardening.

Andre is survived by many cherished friends and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 7^th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., in St Joseph’s Church, 416 3^rd Street, Troy.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Troy, in the Sullivan family plot.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Andre’s memory, to the St. Joseph’s Church Food Pantry, 416 3^rd Street, Troy, New York 12180 would be appreciated.
